The final road swing for the Kenai Post 20 Twins produced a conference victory and a non-conference loss against the Palmer Post 15 Pioneers on Sunday at Hermann Brothers Field in Palmer.
Twins 13 – Palmer 6 League Game
The Twins posted a 13-6 conference win over Palmer on the strength of 15 hits and a trio of big innings. Post 20 opened with a run in the first inning; added four runs in the second and three more in the third inning. The fifth inning produced five Twins runs and a 13-4 lead. Jacob Belger recorded three RBI on two hits and Gabe Smith and Simon Grenier each knocked-in two runs. Atticus Gibson and Hunter Williams combined for the win on the mound.
The Twins improved to 7-7 in the American Division of Alaska Legion baseball.
Palmer 5 – Twins 4 Non-League Game
Palmer opened with four runs in the first inning and the Twins answered with four runs in the second inning. From there only one run was plated by Palmer in the fourth inning. Palmer recorded eight hits; the Twins posted seven hits in the 5-4 Palmer victory.
The Post 20 Twins close the regular season at Oilers Park with a doubleheader against East on Wednesday, July 13th and a doubleheader against West on Thursday, July 14th.
Games are scheduled for 4 p.m. (league) and 6:30 p.m. (non-league).
