The Peninsula Oilers defeated the Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks 6-2 in the final game of a five-game homestand; the Oilers won four-straight from the Chinooks after losing the series opener.

The Chinooks opened the scoring taking advantage of a pair of walks and three hits to score just one run in the first inning. The Oilers responded with three runs in the third inning and never trailed from that point. The Oilers added runs in the fourth, fifth and seventh innings. Both teams collected seven hits with the Oilers benefiting from nine base-on-balls.
Hayden Johns earned the win with seven solid innings allowing only a single run and striking out four batters.
The Oilers open a seven-game road trip on Wednesday against the Anchorage Bucs at Mulcahy Park in Anchorage. Game time scheduled for 7 p.m.
