Alaska Sen. Dan Sullivan was on CNBC’s Squawk Box this week calling President Joe Biden’s recent trip to Saudi Arabia a failure. He said the president is unable to secure commitments from the Saudis to ramp up oil and gas production, arguing that the Biden Administration’s domestic energy policies have put the United States in a weaker position in global negotiations.
Sen. Sullivan also argued that a rapid transition to renewable energy isn’t a serious policy prescription, stating that the International Energy Agency and the U.S. Energy Information Administration determined that oil and gas still will be needed by the global economy for decades. He argues that President Biden is blocking energy infrastructure, pressing the financial sector to exclude American energy, and appointing anti-U.S. energy senior financial officials.
In so doing, the senator also called out Senate Democrats to tell the American public the truth about the spiking energy prices (see video below).
