The undefeated Juneau Huskies and the #3 seed Colony Knight’s will battle for the ASAA Division I Alaska State Football Championship on Friday, October 21st at Service High School, under the lights with a 6:30 p.m. kick-off.
The Juneau Huskies, following an 7-0 run through the Cook Inlet Conference schedule, defeated South Anchorage and East in the DI playoffs to advance to the championship game.
The Colony Knights, 5-2 on the regular season, downed Service and Bartlett to advance to face Juneau. The Knights fell to Juneau 42-13 in week four of the regular season.
For the first time in Division I or Large School football, no Anchorage-based Division I team advanced to the football championship game. Juneau won the 2007 state Large School football championship; the Knights look for their first DI football title.
