Top Dog Wrestling Title To Cougars

The annual Top Dog Wrestling Tournament, hosted by Nikiski High School, featured wrestlers from 22 teams in two-days of high school wrestling at Nikiski High School.

 

The Service Cougars from Anchorage topped the team scoring with 309 points, followed by Redington High School with 288.5 points.

 

The Kenai Kardinals won three individual weight class brackets with Andrew Gaethle winning the 152 lbs. class; Sarai Bravo-Moe winning at 126G and Jenna Yeoman topping the 165G division.

 

Top-five finishes for Central Peninsula wrestlers included:

103 lbs.  5th place – Samuel Henry of Soldotna

125 lbs.  4th place – Wyatt Maguire of Nikiski High School

130 lbs.   3rd Place – Daniel Steffensen of Kenai Central High School

145 lbs.   2nd Place – Antonio Perez of Kenai Central High School

145 lbs.   4th Place – Nicholas Rackley of Soldotna

152 lbs.    1st Place – Andrew Gaethle of Kenai Central High School

152 lbs.    3rd Place – Cameron Cook of Kenai Central High School

152 lbs.    5th Place – Liam Peck of Soldotna

160 lbs.    4th Place – Jaykob Kemp of Soldotna

189 lbs.    4th Place – Tim Goodnight of Nikiski High School

215 lbs.    2nd Place – Robert Isabel of Nikiski High School

285 lbs.    2nd Place – Mayaac Schmit of Nikiski High School

103G    4th Place – Paisley Maxwell of Nikiski High School

126G    1st place – Sarai Bravo-Moe of Kenai Central High School

152G    4th Place – Elisha Beans of Kenai Central High School

165G    1st Place – Jenna Yeoman of Kenai Central High School

 

Kenai and Nikiski are scheduled to compete at the ACS Invitational on Friday and Saturday, November 4th-5th in Anchorage.
