Al Aska Shriners Football Classic Spotlights Athletes & Raises Funds

The 2022 Al Aska Shriners Football Classic, Alaska’s senior bowl for high school football, featured players from all divisions and conferences in Alaska football on the artificial turf at the Anchorage Dome on Saturday.

 

The event is designed to provide a final showcase for Alaska’s senior football players and is the major fundraiser for the Al Aska Shriners.  Both were accomplished on Saturday with players divided into North and South teams, the South winning 21-3; and the Shriners raising between $25,000 and $30,000 for the event.

 

Kenai’s Bridger Beck was named the Offensive Player of the Game for the winning Silver team.  SoHi’s Joe Whittom was a team captain for the Silver team.

“The most important thing is this is our biggest charitable fundraising for the hospital and for our patient transportation fund,”

Funds are used for transporting patients for treatment outside of Alaska.
