Three, third period goals pushed the Kenai River Brown Bears past the Anchorage Wolverines 4-2 on Friday at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex in the first game of a two-games home series.
Kenai River 4 – Anchorage 2
The Brown Bears and Wolverines traded first period goals with Kenai River’s Caleb Huffman scoring the game’s first goal. In the second period, the Wolverines scored a lone goal for a 2-1 lead.
Kenai River took over in the third scoring the tying goal by Garrett Drotts; the go-ahead goal on a second score for Drotts; and the insurance goal by Kotaro Tsutsumi.
In goal for the Brown Bears, Nils Wallstrom stopped 31 of 33 shots.
Kenai River closes its first home stand on Saturday at the SRSC with a 7:30drop of the puck against the Wolverines.
