Bulldog & Kardinals Girls Compete At Kachemak Wrestling Tournament

In a six team girls field at the Kachemak Conference Wrestling Championships at Anchorage Christian School, the Nikiski girls finished third (64) and the Kardinal girls finished fourth (59) in the team scoring.  Redington High School finished first in the team scoring with 140 points, followed by Homer High School with 74 points.

 

Nikiski’s Destiny Langston was awarded first place in the girls 235 lb. weight class qualifying to the ASAA Girls State Wrestling Championships.

Second-place finishers qualify to the state wrestling championships, which are combined DI and DII schools form throughout the state.

State qualifiers from the Kenai Peninsula include:

107 lbs.:  1st Place – Heather Shae of Homer High School Mariners; 2nd Place – Paisley Maxwell of Nikiski High School

114 lbs. 1st Place – Cecilia Fitzpatrick of Homer High School Mariners

126 lbs.: 1st Place – Saoirse Cook of Homer High School Mariners; 2nd Place – Sarai Bravo-Moe of Kenai Central High School

132 lbs.: 2nd Place – Jalyn Yeoman of Kenai Central High School

138 lbs.: 2nd Place – Oceanna Broussard of Nikiski High School

145 lbs.: 2nd Place – Elisha Beans of Kenai Central High School

165 lbs.: 2nd Place – Jenna Yeoman of Kenai Central High School

185 lbs.: 1st Place – Roane Cook of Homer High School Mariners
