The New Years weekend will be ushered in with basketball on Friday night at Soldotna High School.
The Soldotna boys will host the Ninilchik Wolverine boys in a non-divisional pairing at SoHi set for a 6:30 p.m. tip-off.

Cook Inlet Academy Girls 49 – Ninilchik 22
The CIA girls improved to 4-0 on the early season with a 49-22 victory over the Wolverines at CIA. Tatum Rozak and Hope Hillyer each scored 19 points for the Eagles; Riley Tucker scored 14 points for the Wolverines.
Ninilchik Boys 90 – CIA 39
Cole Moore and Jaylin Scott led the Wolverines to a 90-39 non-conference victory over Cook Inlet Academy, scoring 29 and 22 points respectively. Ian McGarry topped the Eagles with 16 points.
