The Soldotna Stars, winners of the 2023 ASAA Division II State Hockey Championship, have been awarded an at-large berth to the Division I hockey state championships and have been seeded as the #2 team on the Division I bracket.
SoHi is the first team from Division II to be seeded in one of the top two positions on the 2023 ASAA Division I State Hockey Championship bracket. In 2022, the DII champion Houston was seeded #8 into the DI tournament.
SoHi opens tournament play on Thursday, February 9th with an 11:00 a.m. game against West Anchorage.
The Stars have regular season victories against #3 Wasilla and #4 Colony. Chugiak High School, the Cook Inlet Conference champion, earns the #1 seed into the Division I tournament.
The ASAA Division I State Hockey Championships will be contested at the Menard Arena in Wasilla with the three-day tournament running Thursday through Saturday, February 9-11.
