Tuesday is Special Borough Mayor Election Day across the Kenai Peninsula. Voters will take to the polls to vote for Kenai Peninsula Borough Mayor. Polls open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2023.
Voters will cast their vote on Kenai Peninsula Borough Mayor. Candidates are on the ballot include: David Carey, Zachary Hamilton, Linda Farnsworth-Hutchings and Peter Micciche. The race also includes a certified write-in candidate; Robert Wall.
For the February Special Election, Ranked Choice Voting will NOT be in affect. If no candidate for the office of borough mayor receives a majority of the votes cast, a runoff election will be held between the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes. If required, the run-off election will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.
According to the Kenai Peninsula Borough, the certification of the special election will be on February, 21st, 2023.
