Alaska’s March Madness moves into conference tournaments for the 2A, 3A and 4A divisions of Alaska high school basketball.
3A Peninsula Conference: Grace Christian School
The 3A Peninsula Conference Tournament at Grace Christian School and will run Thursday-Saturday, March 9-11.
The Grace Grizzlies are the #1 seed in both the girls and boys bracket, and will received a first-round bye. The Kenai boys and Seward girls also earn first-round byes as the tournament’s #2 seeds.
Thursday, March 9: Girls Tournament Thursday Results
Homer Girls 28 -Nikiski girls 23
Shelby Burman lead Nikiski with 7 points; Sydney Shelby topped Homer with 7 points.
Homer girls play Grace at 6:15 p.m. Nikiski girls play Friday at 9 a.m.
Seward girls 34 – Kenai girls 28
Kenai’s Emma Beck scored 12 points and Emilee Wilson added 6 points for the Kardinals. Kenai will play Nikiski in the 9 a.m. game on Friday with the winner advancing to play in the noon game Friday.
Grace girls 70 – Homer girls 24
Five Grizzlies scored in double-figures lead by Sophie Lentfer with 15 points. Grace will face Seward in the Girls Championship Game on Friday at 6:15 p.m.
Thursday, March 9: Boys Tournament Thursday Results
Nikiski boys 61 – Homer boys 55
Drew Handley scored 20 points and Charlie Chamberlain added 16 points for the Bulldogs.
Nikiski play #1 Grace in the 7:45 p.m. Thursday. Homer plays at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
Kenai boys 48 – Seward boys 42
Jakob Kvasnikoff lead Kenai with 24 points.
Kenai boys play in Boys Championship Game on Friday at 7:45 p.m.
Grace boys 104 – Nikiski 34
Braeden Porter scored 10 points for the Bulldogs. Nikiski will play at 1:30 p.m. on Friday against the winner of Seward vs Homer.

4A Northern Lights Conference: Kodiak High School
The 4A Northern Lights Conference Tournament will be hosted at Kodiak High School and will run Thursday-Saturday, March 9-11.
The Anchorage Christian School Lion girls and the Colony Knights boys earn the #1 seeds into the tournament with unbeaten 10-0 conference records.
Thursday, March 9: First Round Results
SoHi Girls 37 – Palmer 33
The Soldotna girls rallied for a first-round victory over Palmer 37-33 at the Northern Lights Conference basketball tournament in Kodiak.
SoHi trailed 18-14 at the half and the teams were tied after three quarters 24-24. The Lady Stars took the lead in the final two minutes. Josie Sheridan topped Sohi with 11 points and Kaitlyn Moorison and Morgan Lemm added six points each.
The Stars face #1 seed ACS in the 3:15 p.m. winner’s bracket game on Friday.
SoHi Boys 36 – Kodiak 53
The Stars never got on track against the host Kodiak Bears falling to Kodiak 53-36. Jakob Brown lead SoHi with 15 points in the loss. The SoHi boys return to the court Friday at 10 a.m. against the Palmer Moose.

2A Interior Conference : Ninilchik School
The reigning 2A state champion Ninilchik boys enter the 2A Interior Conference tournament as the #1 seed and received a first round bye.
Ninilchik Boys 63 – Nenana 20 Opening Game
The Wolverines dominate Nenana in Thursday’s semi-final game defeating Nenana 63-20. Colvin Moore led all scorers with 20 points and Jaylin Scott added 17 for the Wolverines.
Ninilchik advances to the Interior Conference championship game on Friday to face Cordova in the 6:30 p.m. game.
The Ninilchik girls return to the court on Friday in the double-back round at 2 p.m. against Nenana.
All 3A Peninsula Conference basketball games involving Nikiski and Kenai throughout the tournament will be broadcast on ESPN 1140AM, 96.9FM and streamed live at radiokenai.com.
