The Grace Christian girls and boys dominated the championship games at the Peninsula Conference Basketball Tournament Friday night at Grace Christian.
The Kenai Kardinals earned a pair of 3A state basketball tournament berths with victories in the 2nd-Place games on Saturday.
Peninsula Conference 2nd Place Game Results
Kenai Girls 46 – Seward 27
The Kardinal girls claim the second seed to the 3A state basketball championships with a commanding 46-27 win over Seward.
Kenai opened with a 13-5 first quarter lead and owned a 27-10 advantage at the half. Emma Beck scored 26 points for Kenai. Malerie Nunn added 10 points.
Kenai Boys 59 – Seward Boys 29
Kenai opened with a 17-0 first quarter and extended to a 31-12 halftime lead. the Kardinals were in control throughout and finished up 30 points for the 59-29 victory.
The Kenai boys earn a berth to the 3A state basketball championships; joining the Kenai girls. Wade James scored 16 points and Daniel McRorie added 14 points for Kenai.

ASAA 3A State Tournament Information

State qualifiers for the 3A division include: Peninsula (2), Eastern (2), Aurora 92) and Western (2) No At-Large berths are available.
The ASAA 3A State Basketball Championship are scheduled for March 22-25 at the Alaska Airlines Center in Anchorage.
