The 2023 Homer Winer Kings Tournament was originally scheduled for Saturday, March 18th; but due poor weather conditions on Kachemak Bay, the Winter King Tournament Committee decided to reschedule the tournament to Saturday, March 25th.
According to a statement from the Winter King Tournament Committee, the weather this last weekend created unsafe conditions for boaters so following the tournament policies, we have moved it to the Saturday, March 25th and the weather is looking significantly better. The safety of our boaters is paramount in addition to a fair tournament for all.
The Homer Harbormaster has offered the Harbor’s parking lot on the Spit to boat owners who want to park their boat there free of charge until Saturday, March 25th for the Winter King Tournament. Northern Enterprises and Homer Boatyards on Kachemak Drive have also made the same offer, free of charge to boat owners.
Boat Captains and their anglers who want to get a refund need to email the Homer Chamber at [email protected] and request the refund.
Those requesting refunds must note the boat name and the #/names of anglers on the boat. Then each angler on the boat must request their own refund with the boat name, their name and amount of money requested for refund. Our accounting firm will make the refund to their individual credit cards.
For those that are still wanting to register for the Winter King Tournament can register at homerwinterking.com and/or you can register in-person at the Homer Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center at 201 Sterling Highway. Monday-Friday from 9:00am to 5:00 pm. On Friday, March 24 we will be open until 6pm.
