Peninsula Conference soccer featured Kenai at Homer on Saturday with the Kenai girls earning a 2-0 conference victory and the Kenai and Homer boys playing to a 1-1 tie.
Kenai Girls 2 – Homer 0
After a scoreless first half on the Homer pitch, the Kenai girls scored a pair of unanswered goals for a 2-0 Peninsula Conference victory over the Mariners.
Rylie Sparks opened the scoring with an assist from Kylee Verkuilen and Kori Moore in the 48th minute. Verkuilen scored the Kardinals second goal in the 72nd minute of the contest.
Maddie Malone recorded the shutout in goal for the Kardinals.
Kenai Boys 1 – Homer 1
Kenai netted an early goal in the first five minutes by Cole Langham for a 1-0 lead over the Homer boys in Peninsula Conference soccer action. Homer’s Niko Sulczynski tied the game late for a 1-1 final.
