Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision With Pedestrian In Happy Valley

Alaska State Troopers received information on Sunday, August 6th, at approximately 3:37 a.m. that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle in the Happy Valley area on the Sterling Highway at Shady Lane, (MP 142.5).

 

AST responded and found that Jacob Foster, age 42 of Homer, was driving southbound.

 

Michael Morgan, age 68 of Anchorage, was dressed in black and walking in the center of the southbound lane.

 

Foster did not see Morgan and struck him at highway speeds.

 

First aid was immediately rendered but Morgan succumbed to his injuries.

 

The collision investigation is ongoing.
