Each week throughout the high school sports 2023-24 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week ending September 19th:
- Representing the Kenai Kardinals is volleyball player Kate Wisnewski
- Wisnewski on Sept 14th Vs Nikiski had 40 assists, 3 kills, 11 digs. On Sept 16th Vs Grace she had 26 assists, 4 kills, 6 digs.
- Leading the pack for the Nikiski Bulldogs is volleyball player Zoey Ellis
- Ellis is a consistent positive presence on the volleyball team. She is a leader on and off the court and played great against Kenai and Seward last week.
- Selected for the Soldotna Stars is volleyball player Sadie Lane
- Lane had 15 kills and five aces for SoHi on Friday against Palmer and 14 digs, 11 kills and two aces on Saturday.
Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week, each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
