Peninsula Sports Athletes Of The Week: Week of October 24th

Each week throughout the high school sports 2023-24 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.

 

For the week ending October 24th:

      • Representing the Kenai Kardinals is wrestler Davis Deese
        • Deese with Kenai Wrestling took 3rd @ 171 pounds during the Luke Spruill Tournament.
    • Leading the pack for the Nikiski Bulldogs is wrestler Mayaac Schmit
      • Schmit recorded 4 pins on his way to winning the Luke Spurill Tournament and was named the Outstanding Wrestler at the Luke Spurill Tournament.
    • Selected for the Soldotna Stars is football player Hakoa Montoya
      • Hakoa anchored the offensive line that put up over 500 yards of rushing in the State Championship Game vs. Lathrop.
