Winter Weather Advisory For Kenai Peninsula

The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a winter weather advisory for the Western Kenai Peninsula, including the cities of Kenai, Soldotna, Homer, and Cooper Landing, predicting snow accumulations of 4 to 10 inches, and winds as high as 30 mph.

 

The advisory is in effect from 11:00 a.m. Saturday to 9:00 a.m. Sunday.

 


Snow will begin for the southern Kenai Peninsula late Saturday morning and then spread north across the rest of the peninsula by Saturday evening. The highest total snow amounts are expected from Soldotna south to Anchor Point, with Homer receiving the least amount of snow.

 

Snow and blowing snow is to be expected. Visibility will be reduced to one half mile or less at times.

 

Travel will be hazardous. Please slow down and use caution while traveling.
