Each week throughout the high school sports 2023-24 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week ending February 12th:
- Representing the Kenai Kardinals is skier Emily Moss
- Moss took 4th Place for Combined Score at the Nordic Skiing Region III Championships
- Leading the pack for the Nikiski Bulldogs is basketball player Avery Ellis
- Ellis finished the Bulldogs most recent basketball tournament averaging 9.7 points and had a career high 16pts in the game against Eagle River
- Selected for the Soldotna Stars is hockey player Tania Boonstra
- Boonstra was the Girls overall champion at the Region 3 Ski Championships held at Tsalteshi Trails over the weekend.
