On Sunday, April 7th, at 2:00 p.m., Alaska State Troopers responded to a residence off Island Lake Rd. in Nikiski for a report of a burglary that occurred within the last couple of hours.

Three individuals had pried a lock off the door at the residence and stole items such as electronics, tools, collectibles, and clothes.

In the report, the collectibles that were stolen appeared to be collectible cards, which were apprised to be worth ‘several thousand dollars.’

It was also mentioned that nearly $2,000 worth of electronics, power tools, and watches were stolen.

According to the Peninsula Clarion, The affidavit says that earlier that day, the victim of the crime man told troopers he had been “confronted” by three individuals in a blue Ford truck.

After reviewing security camera footage from a neighbor, it depicts a blue truck arriving at the scene of the crime around 10:30 a.m., which shows two men and a woman entering the residence, and loading items into the truck.

After a few minutes, they fled the scene.

The three individuals were later identified as Kosha Jacob, 35, of Kenai; Justin Davidhizar, 38, of Soldotna; and Andrew Whipple, 36, of Kenai.

Troopers later discovered Jacob and Davidhizar at a Soldotna shop and questioned them.

According to the affidavit, Jacob allegedly lives at the residence “off and on” but does not have access to the items on her own.

The pair said they only took Jacob’s items, and Davidhizar declined to let troopers search the shop.

After receiving a warrant, Troopers searched the shop with the Nikiski man present.

Most of the stolen collectible cards were recovered, along with a duffel bag containing his clothes, a power charger, and a nail gun. The affidavit lists a few other items, such as a laptop, a television, and other power tools, that are not described as having been found.

After further investigation, it was determined that Jacob, Whipple, and Davidhizar did, in fact, commit the crime. The trio were all charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree theft, and fifth-degree criminal mischief.

Whipple found himself with an additional charge of possession of burglary tools.

All three individuals were arrested near Soldotna and remanded at Wildwood pretrial without bail.
