The Peninsula Oilers continue their dominance at home against the Chuguak Eagle River Chinooks.
The Oilers battled against the Chinooks to open the series on Thursday, July 11th, with a 4 – 3 win in extra innings on ladies’ night.
Petey Soto, Ty Thomas, and Colin Robson scored for the Oilers in the 1st inning. The Oilers earned the extra run in the 11th inning when they shut out the Chinooks.
The weather shut down the Oilers on Friday, July 12th, and Saturday, July 13th, at Coral Semouyer Memorial Park.
The skies allowed for play on Sunday, July 14th, when the Oilers and Chinooks played a doubleheader.
Game one went to the Oilers, with just one run in the seven-inning game. Max Roffwarg flew out to the left field, SAC, RBI, and Petey Soto scored for the Oilers.
In game two, the Peninsula Oilers’ bats opened up. Max Roffwarg singled, RBI; Brock Wirthgen advanced to second; Collin Robson scored. In the 4th, Zak Farris tripled, 3 RBI; Cole Wilson scored; Braden Smith scored; Max Roffwarg scored, then Zack Farris scored on a passed ball to the end of the fourth. In the fifth Zak Farris singled, RBI; Cole Wilson advanced to third; Braden Smith scored. Then in the sixth, Bryce Wirthgen doubled, RBI; Cole Dawson scored the final run for the Oilers. Oilers win 7 – 2.
