Each week throughout the high school sports 2024-25 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week of August 27th:
- For the Kenai Kardinals is swimmer Isla Crouse
- Crouse for KCHS Swimming earned 1st in the 200IM in 2:30.96 and 1st in 100 Breaststroke at 1:17.58.
- For the Nikiski Bulldogs is football player Ethan Ellis
- Ellis had two passing, a rushing TD, and two defensive ints as the Bulldogs faced off against the Monroe-Catholic.
- For the Soldotna Stars is cross-country runner Tania Boonstra
- Boonstra had a great showing at the Ted McKenney Invite, recording a top-10 finish in the state’s most challenging race.
