Each week throughout the high school sports 2024-25 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week of October 22nd:
- Kenai Kardinals Athletes of the Week are the football player Rohan Hansen.
- Rohan was given the “Player of the Game” award during the State Championship Football game vs Homer.
- Nikiski Bulldogs Athlete of the Week is wrestler Sloan Wittmer.
- Sloan challenged himself by going up a weight and wrestling to win no matter the score.
- Soldotna Stars Athlete of the Week is swimmer Michael Davidson.
- Michael has demonstrated hard work and dedication over the season. He took first in the 200 IM and 3rd in the 100 back, with multiple PR’s at the Valley Invite over the weekend.
Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week; each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
