Each week throughout the high school sports 2024-25 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week of October 29th:
- Kenai Kardinals Athlete of the Week is wrestler Conner Cook.
- Conner took 3rd place in the 145-pound weight class at the Nikiski Top Dog Invitational.
- Nikiski Bulldogs Athlete of the Week is wrestler Rex Wittmer.
- Rex went undefeated in the Top Dawg Tournament, pinning all of his opponents in dramatic fashion to earn the top spot on the podium and the coveted Dog Bone.
- Soldotna Stars Athlete of the Week is football player Wyatt Faircloth.
- Wyatt led the Stars football team to the Division II State title and was the backbone of our defense all year long.
Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week; each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
