Each week throughout the high school sports 2024-25 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week of November 5th:
- Kenai Kardinals Athlete of the Week is Emma Castimore.
- As a freshman, Emma qualified for the state Swimming Championships in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle.
- Nikiski Bulldogs Athlete of the Week is volleyball player Mandee Roofe.
- Mandee was key in helping her team defeat Soldotna, overcoming a 2-set deficit, as well as a 3-set sweep against Homer.
- Soldotna Stars Athlete of the Week is wrestler Jessica LeClair.
- Jessica pinned all of her opponents en route to winning the MCCA Women’s wrestling tournament.
Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week; each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
