Each week throughout the high school sports 2024-25 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week of December 3rd:
- Kenai Kardinals Athlete of the Week is wrestler Keegan Roumell.
- Keegan had a great tournament in Anchorage, where KCHS took 3rd place at the Grace Christian Shakedown Tournament.
- Nikiski Bulldogs Athlete of the Week is wrestler Connor Ley.
- After overcoming one of the hardest weeks of training with a positive and growth mindset, Connor will compete in the biggest tournament of the year this weekend. He is wrestling at a very high level and is poised to shock people at regions.
- Soldotna Stars Athlete of the Week is wrestler Michael Dickinson.
- Michael won the 150 lb weight class at the Perry Burlison Wrestling Classic hosted by Cascade Senior High School in Turner, OR. Michael was named the Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament.
Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week; each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
