The City of Soldotna is accepting applications for the Mini-Grant Program from now until February 15. The mini-grant program aims to recognize the valued contributions provided through the volunteer efforts of community organizations and agencies on behalf of the community. This is the second of two grant cycles opened annually by the city.

The mini-grant program offers $1,000 to a nonprofit organization or agency that acts on behalf of the community.

To be considered during the program’s second cycle (January 15-Febuary 15), an application must be received no earlier than the first day of the application cycle and no later than midnight on February 15.

Applicants may apply by submitting a completed Mini-Grant Application and required documents during one of the Grant Cycles.

The application and the required or supporting documentation must all be submitted together as one packet.

For additional information regarding eligibility requirements for applicants, the grant application cycles, and the types of programs, services, or events that are eligible, see the Mini-Grant Policy.

The Mini-Grant Program was established to fund a wide range of civic programs, services, and events that contribute to the cultural and economic environment and/or health, welfare, and overall quality of life for the community and residents of Soldotna.

After the deadline, applicants will be invited to the council meeting on Feb. 26th, where they can give a presentation. The mini-grant will be awarded that night.

The Mayor and Council members will rank the applications to determine which applicants will receive funding. The City Clerk will tabulate the results, which will be read by the mayor during a Soldotna City Council meeting.
