Cooper Landing Snowshoe Softball Fun-Raiser

Join Cooper Landing Emergency Services for their annual winter tradition, Snowshoe Softball. The Snowshoe Softball game is a public health event that encourages the community to get outside and be active. It’s also a fundraiser that folks can donate to help the CLES.

This year, the fundraising money will be used to purchase items on their extraction tool wishlist, such as extraction air mats. Rachel Sullivan, Operations Coordinator for CLES, says many other departments have them, and they’re fairly handy, so they’re hoping to purchase some of their own.

The event is a single softball game, and teams will be decided before the game.

Sullivan says they have about 225 residents this winter.

“So, it’s something to look forward to during the cold winter months, and it’s always pretty funny whether you’re on ice and trying to run in snowshoes or a ton of snow. Either way, it’s pretty fun, and usually nobody gets hurt, but you have to be pretty careful out there.” Sullivan says.

The game is on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 12 to 2 p.m., at the Cooper Landing Community Hall on Bear Creek Rd.

The Snowshoe Softball game is free to attend; however, donations are highly encouraged.
