Each week throughout the high school sports 2024-25 competitive seasons, KSRM/ESPN selects a Peninsula Sports Athlete of the Week from each of the central peninsula’s three public high schools.
For the week of February 10th:
- Kenai Kardinals Athlete of the Week is Nordic Skier Chase Laker.
- Chase finished in the top five at the cross-country Region ski meet with a time of 31:28.
- Nikiski Bulldogs Athlete of the Week is basketball player Abby White.
- Abby scored 16 second-half points in Nikiski’s win over Kenai last week. She continues to provide the Bulldogs with a spark offensively and leads the team in 3-pointers made.
- Soldotna Stars Athlete of the Week is hockey goalie Brycen Clyde.
- Brycen had a fantastic game in the state semifinals to lead our hockey team to the state championship game.
Congratulations to all Peninsula Sports Athletes of the Week; each recipient will receive a 6-inch combo meal courtesy of Subway of the Kenai Peninsula.
