Firefighters in Kenai thwarted a house fire on Cinderella St. on Tuesday morning. According to the fire department, the call came in, and Engine 2 responded, arriving on the scene shortly after the report.
“They did a quick attack and got a quick knockdown. We were able to save the structure. A lot of contents and interior drywall, things like that, were damaged, obviously in the course of extinguishing the fire,” said Kenai Fire Chief Jay Teague.
Teague says both occupants of the home escaped the fire safely and were treated on the scene. “It was a successful operation. The crews did a really great job. We were on scene for few hours just checking for extension and overall trying to minimize damage to the structure,” he said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Chief Teague says no foul play is suspected at this time.
