Thursday, May 1

Soldotna 8, Wasilla 5
The visiting Soldotna Stars secured a nonconference victory over Wasilla, improving their overall record to 3-7-2. The Stars built an 8-0 lead through six innings before the Warriors rallied with five runs in the seventh. Colby Sturman delivered a standout performance, pitching five shutout innings with eight strikeouts and contributing offensively by going 3-for-3 with a run and two RBIs. Matthew Schilling and Brenden Theel each drew two walks and scored twice, while Jack Harper added two RBIs.

 

Friday, May 2

Kenai Central 15, Redington 2
Kenai Central dominated Redington in a five-inning nonconference game, enhancing their overall record to 4-1. The Kardinals led 1-0 after two innings and exploded for 14 runs over the next three frames. Gabe Joanis pitched three scoreless innings, allowing just one hit. Offensively, Daniel Steffensen went 2-for-3 with four runs and two RBIs, and Braden Smith was 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.

 

Soldotna falls to Service and Eagle River
Soldotna faced two tough opponents in Anchorage, losing 10-4 to Service and 3-0 to Eagle River, bringing their record to 3-9-2. Against Service, the Stars led 4-1 entering the bottom of the fifth before the Cougars erupted for nine runs. In the game against Eagle River, Jett Brophy pitched six innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits, but the Stars’ offense was limited to four hits.

 

Saturday, May 3

Kenai Central 7, Palmer 3
Kenai Central extended their winning streak to five games with a 7-3 victory over Palmer, improving to 5-1 overall. Jacob Joanis pitched four innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits, while Everett Chamberlain closed the game, allowing one run over three innings. Braden Smith contributed offensively, going 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.

 

Soldotna 16, Grace Christian 1
The Stars achieved their highest-scoring game of the season, defeating Grace Christian 16-1 in five innings during Northern Lights Conference play. This victory improved their conference record to 1-1 and overall to 4-9-2. Brenden Theel pitched four innings, allowing one run on one hit with eight strikeouts. Matthew Schilling and Theel each had multiple hits and runs, leading a potent offensive effort.

 

Monday, May 5

Soldotna 17, Homer 7
In a Northern Lights Conference matchup, Soldotna defeated Homer 17-7 in five innings, improving to 2-1 in the league and 5-9-2 overall. Colby Sturman had a significant impact, hitting a grand slam in the second inning. Homer’s Henry Wedvik allowed 10 runs (four earned) over 3⅓ innings.
