On Saturday, Odie’s Deli opened their second location inside the Kenai Airport. Their owner, Melodie Symington says that she is excited to offer the same fresh baked breads, cookies, and treats to Kenai that have been available in Soldotna for years.
Symington: ”Our menu’s the same, we’re cooking and baking everything fresh right here on site. It’s fully functional just making it all from scratch just like we do. Our cookies and our cinnamon rolls and all the yummy stuff you’re expecting at Odie’s.”
In the years since she has taken over the business from her mother, Symington said that she has enjoyed being able to create.
Symington: “I’m a recipe finder, a recipe adapter. I like to play with recipes and kind of make them my own so that’s what I’ve done over the last eight years. Kind of tweaked things here and there and I’ve got a lot of breads that I’ve made up and have a lot of fun with it.”
She also pointed out that there is a separate entrance and parking to the side of the building for those who are not flying and would just like to eat.
