Today during the Industry Outlook Forum many people presented about the opportunities in the Kenai Peninsula mainly through the oil and gas industries.
We spoke to Agrium’s Steve Wendt about what reopening their facility might mean for the area.
Wendt: “Our plan is for 140 full-time, permanent positions, almost all of those if not all of those would be local. Our previous hiring experience and previous history here, we had 100 percent local employment.”
He also said that they always have had a good reputation with the community and plan to keep that reputation by continuing the local hiring.
When asked what phase Agrium is currently in Wendt said…
Wendt:”We’ll probably be hiring in a year, beginning in early 2015.”
