This week the Paint the Kenai project moved forward during a meeting Kenai Mayor Pat Porter attended.

Mayor Porter: “They went over the painting of it, a committee for painting a  committee for finance. They also about Pen the Kenai as well so there was a separate group for that to be able to put together the literature that’s going to go along with that and how it’s going to be displayed. So it was a great group there, a lot of them there and excited to get it going.”

Porter also said that artist Fanny Ryland whose original artwork will be painted inside the Kenai Airport was also at the meeting. Last August Ryland’s art won the privileged to be the art for the mural after being voted for by Kenai Peninsula residents.

Coordinator Marcus Mueller said the painting process should start in May.
