The House Finance Committee has advanced a final version of a $9.1 billion state operating budget.
This final revision of the budget is about $1.6 million dollars less than what the committee proposed last week due to cuts totaling around $2.3 million for school construction and debt service.
The package proposed is about $1.3 billion less than the level of authorized spending for this current year. It is also less than the unrestricted general funds that Gov. Sean Parnell proposed by about $43 million.
Discussions of whether to provide a cash infusion to deal with the state’s nearly $12 billion unfunded pension liability or to continue the current payment schedule have also been heard but not decided on.
The bill must now be considered by the Senate.
