There is a downed power line near Homer Electric’s substation on Beaver Creek, the amount of affected customers is unknown at this time.
We spoke to HEA’s Joe Gallagher for more.
Gallagher: “This afternoon at about 3:15 Homer Electric experienced a power outage that is affecting the Kenai Spur Highway from about Beaver Creek to Soldotna at Irons Ave. So again at our substation at Beaver Creek towards Soldotna to about Irons Avenue we have a power outage this afternoon and we have a report of a line that is down and we hope to have power restored as soon as possible.”
We estimate several hundred HEA customers being affected by this outage and we will continue coverage as more details are known.
