Borough Assembly Meeting Preview

Tonight the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly will review the next steps needed for the construction of Enstar’s natural gas line on Funny River Road and discuss supporting the Kenai Veteran Memorial.

 

The Funny River Road West project is estimated to cost $912,580 for the installation of 38,500 feet (7.3 miles) of 2″ pipe and is slated decrease electricity costs for residents of Funny River Road.

 

The application up for approval is requesting the establishment of a utility special assessment district for financing the construction of extension.

 

Another discussion aims to support veterans by keeping the cross on the Kenai Veteran’s Memorial.

 

Assembly Member Kelly Wolf drafted the resolution.

 

Wolf: “This is about recognizing those veterans that no longer have a voice. I believe very strongly that this is a Christian nation and it was founded by men of faith.” 

 

He stated that about a tenth of the Kenai Peninsula’s residents are veterans.

 

The meeting will be held at 6:00 pm in the Borough Assembly Chambers in Soldotna.
