The Kenai Peninsula College has expanded its exchange student program and is looking for host families for the upcoming fall semester.

Suzie Kendrick with KPC said that the program may now have up to five foreign exchange students versus just three before.

Kendrick: “So I don’t think that they quite know what countries they are going to be having students from but in the past we’ve had students from China, Sweden Finland, South Korea, but yeah up to five.”

Kendrick said it is important to know that the students won’t require transportation.

Kendrick: “Hosting these students does not require providing them transportation, the students are college age and they will use CARTS or other car pool options so people don’t have to worry about factoring that in. Host families will also receive a $200 a month stipend to help finance the student’s food and such in the household.”

Kendrick said anyone interested in the program may find more information on the Kenai Peninsula College’s website or contact Diane Taylor in the Learning Center at 262-0328.
