This year’s Lemonade Day is looking for businesses to host elementary school children’s lemonade stands.

January Yeager with the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce described what it takes to host a lemonade stand.

Yeager: “We are needing locations for kids to set their stands at, so if anybody has a business where they would like to host a lemonade stand they can can give me a call and I can put them on a list and it’s really really simple to host a lemonade stand, basically all you’re doing is providing a space for those kids to set up their lemonade stand, you don’t have to go through workbooks with them or anything like that so really easy!”

Yeager said Lemonade Day is celebrated nationally to encourage young entrepreneurs.

Yeager: “It was created so that kids could learn about what it’s like to be an entrepreneur and to encourage them and the easiest way to do that is almost every kid you meet has set up a lemonade stand before, it’s a great easy way to kind of test out what business is like and what they can do, kind of encourage them as they get older to start their own businesses and just encourage entrepreneurship.”

If businesses are interested they may call either the Soldotna or Kenai Chamber of Commerce to learn more.
