After two employees unexpectedly quit, the Homer Division of Motor Vehicles is operating under abbreviated office hours.
Alaska DMV Director Amy Erickson out of Anchorage said employees from the Soldotna and Anchorage offices are filling in and detailed the limited hours.
Erickson: “It looks like we’re doing a morning shift from 9:30 to 11:30 and then after lunch 1-4:30. And next week it looks like we will be open full time on Tuesday and Thursday and then road exams all day on Wednesday.”
She said that they are currently conducting interviews for the open positions.
Erickson said limited hours were brought on when two employees had to quit unexpectedly.
Erickson: “Two of our employees actually quit, one unexpectedly because of moving out of state and then another because of an illness in the family.”
