The Homer City Council voted down an ordinance to raise their own pay in their Monday, May 12, meeting.
Homer Mayor Beth Wythe broke a 3 – 3 tie when she voted no on the ordinance.
Council members against the ordinance claimed that serving on the council should have nothing to do with money.
