High Motorcycle Fatalities in Short Spring

Author: KSRM News Desk |

Anchorage police identified 32-year-old Justin Hillen as the most recent motorcycle fatality in Alaska’s short spring.

Hillen was driving on Dowling Road in Anchorage when he collided with a dump truck Thursday morning.

While Alaska usually averages nine motorcycle fatalities a year, Hillen was the sixth motorcycle fatality in Alaska already this year.

Vice President Eric Fine of Alaskan Bikers Advocating Training and Education or A.B.A.T.E. spoke to us about motorcycle awareness.

Fine: “We want to get the word out to let people be aware that we have an influx of motorcycles this time of year and everybody use common sense, courtesy, safety, you know back to what you learned in the beginning, look left, look right, look left again.”
