The Soldotna Chamber of Commerce will award a variety of scholarships at their Chamber Luncheon at Froso’s Restaurant at noon on Tuesday, May 20.
January Yeager with the Chamber outlined the scholarships to be awarded.
Yeager: “We have three scholarships that we give away that are worth $4,000 a peice, those are to high school seniors that will be starting college in the fall. And then we have another one also worth $4,000 that goes to more of an adult learner that is already attending college right now and those are split up into two years, they get $2,000 the first year and $2,000 the second year. And we also have two scholarships that are Vera Howarth scholarships, she was instrumental in starting the Chamber before we were even a state so those are done in her honor and focus more on community service.”
Also at the luncheon, President of Alaska Christian College Dr. Keith J. Hamilton will present about news and changes to the college.
