A project adding more slow vehicle turnout spots to the Sterling Highway between Soldotna and Homer is having an open house.

Project Engineer Jason Baxley said the open house is for anyone who would like to ask questions about what they’ll be doing.

Baxley: “Its just turnouts, we’re building 22 turnouts between Soldotna and Homer so about every 4 or 5 miles there’s going to be a turnout.”

Baxley said this project is slated to only last this year.

Baxley: “This is just a one year project, we have a completion date of I believe November 1, either November 1 or October 31.”

That open house will be at the Ninilchik School Library on Tuesday, June 17 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
