Locals driving by the “Y” in Soldotna may have noticed a sign indicating McDonald’s may be moving to the new Walgreens location.
Local McDonald’s owner Scott Cunningham said the sign is premature and has asked the developer to take McDonald’s name off of it.
Cunningham: “There’s no signed deal, McDonald’s name should not be on there and aside from that I really don’t have any other comments than what I’ve already said, we’ve outgrown our current location and spot and we’ve been looking at alternatives for a number of years and that’s one of the options that we’re pursuing.”
When KSRM spoke with Cunningham earlier this year, he said that at the current Soldotna location McDonald’s goes to the property line on all sides and they have been looking at other location options for a while.
He added that there will be no part of the move happening this year.
