The August 26 Kenai Soldotna joint chamber luncheon welcomed Alaska House Representative candidates from districts 29, 30, and 31.
Five representative candidates were present: Incumbent House Speaker Mike Chenault (R) will face off with newcomer Rocky Knudsen(D) for District 29, incumbent Kurt Olson (R) will face Shauna Thornton (D) for District 30, and incumbent Paul Seaton is running unopposed for District 31.
Towards the end of the forum a member of the public asked all of the candidates their opinions on the issue of school choice, vouchers and why they were or weren’t for them.
