The Kenai Soldotna joint luncheon saw the Kenai Peninsula Borough Mayoral Candidates answer a variety of questions.
KSRM asked each candidate what the next three years of borough administration would be like if they were elected.
Incumbent Mayor Mike Navarre…
Navarre: “I think it’s going to be responsible managed in terms of the budget, strong support for education and a thriving economy.”
Tom Bearup…
Bearup: “It would be very conservative in nature I think we would be accountable for every dollar that was spent, I think that we would hold everybody that came in with their hand out accountable for what they have and what their needs are.”
And even though Carrol Martin had originally declined the chamber forum, he was there.
Martin: “I hope that the LNG plant is fired up and we’re getting more revenue so we can fund some of our short comings.”
The mayor of the Kenai Peninsula Borough will be chosen by the voters in the municipal election on October 7.
