The 2014-15 Junior A hockey season opened for the Kenai River Brown Bears with a split at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.
The Ice Dogs held-off the Brown Bears in game one on Friday 3-1. Kenai River, with a three goal, third period, downed the Ice Dogs on Saturday 5-3.
The Brown Bears travel to the 2014 NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota for four games, September 17-20. The Brown Bears face-off against Corpus Christi on Wednesday, September 17 at 1:30 p.m
