A community meeting is being held to weigh-in on project priority and funding via state allocation for them in the Funny River area.

House Rep. Mike Chenault said he plans to be there.

Chenault: “Well I think the meeting tonight is scheduled on two things, one may be revenue sharing and the other may be capital projects to deal with the Funny River area and what they would like to see if we’re able to receive any money on capital projects.

The community meeting is an opportunity for public to weigh in on revenue sharing.

Chenault: “To determine what capital projects from each individual areas across the districts, whether that’s Seward or Nikiski, Kenai, Soldotna, so on, those are the projects that could get listed in the borough book depending on the ranking and then brought down to the legislature during the legislative session to try to look and see if any funding is available to either start or complete projects in our local areas.”

For Funny River, there is only one agency which qualifies for the revenue sharing, which is the community center.

Tonight’s meeting will be held at 7 pm at the Kenai River Center on Funny River Road.

A meeting for the Sterling area is scheduled for tomorrow, September 23, at 7 pm at the Sterling Community Center.
